What an absolutely beautiful day for a 9-mile hike with a promise of amazing views.\u00a0 But, with no current club concussion protocol in place and Paul clearing himself to hike, that hike didn\u2019t happen.\u00a0 Today\u2019s hike to Peaked Mt. was in fact 12 miles.\u00a0 There were no amazing views, since we were on the wrong mountain and a leader that had difficulties with his sense of direction.\u00a0 He was viewed walking in circles, mumbling \u201cmy compass\u201d.\u00a0 It got to the point that Tom Smith, whose navigation skills are dubious to begin with, led the hike out.<\/p>\n

The deerflies were a nuisance and several bug repellents were tried and failed miserably; apple cider vinegar, stem bug spray and a dragonfly attached to the pack, we\u2019ll keep trying though.\u00a0 Even with all that, the day was absolutely gorgeous.\u00a0 We laughed and talked all day long about some many different things, what a great crew to hike with.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
