Three tramps ventured out into the Ferris Lake Wild Forest area Sunday hiking 9 miles. We started on the trail that led to Big Alderbed Lake, then from there it was off the beaten path to Big Alderbed Mt. Along the way, we passed several vly’s, coming up on them quietly in the rare event we were to glimpse a moose.

There was some interesting signs and sounds, but no sightings. Next trip! And that’s what we talked about, all the “next trips”. The weather actually cooperated, with very little rain and a rolling fog bank that didn’t seem to dissipate with the day. Kudos to GPS, Galileo and GLONASS, keeping Paul’s compass pointing true, with no one having to hunker down on this trip.
