Labor Day Weekend!!  Thank GOD.  I’m going to need two days to recover before returning to work after yesterday’s dismal performance.

Earlier in the week, Paul contacted the landowner for permission and got it to access the trailhead to Puffer Mt.  Access to the public is closed off, evident by all the signs that are posted on the property.  Puffer Mt. is 92 on the Adirondack 100 highest peaks, being 3,472 feet.  Eight made it to the top, while I was puking and just shutting down just short of the peak, by about 1/8 of a mile. Mountains certainly have a way of dealing with overconfidence.  Thanks to Dave and Jeremy for jumping in, leading the hike while I was incapacitated.  Whatever it was passed and on the way down I regained my ability.  That didn’t seem to quell some people from diagnosing my situation.  The most common one was “out of shape”.  Have to agree with that one.

Some of the best things about the club and hiking with the club is everyone is extremely supportive. There is a sense of community and definitely enhances the fun that people have.  There is not a competitive or judgmental nature to anyone, and you don’t have to worry about your skill level.  The people that make up the club are the epitome of inclusiveness and acceptance.
