17 of us tramped 4.4 miles through the hills of Basswood State Forest on a hot, humid day with temps in the 90’s. Since a section of the trail by the pond was flooded due to a beaver dam, we donned our water shoes for a comfortable trek through the cool water.
We also did a short bushwhack when the leader lost the trail. The last mile of the hike was when the heat and humidity really hit. After surviving the hike we stopped at the Meadery to sample some mead and then crashed a Republican fundraiser at the brewery.
