Co-Leader: Greg Sipp

Highlights of a well-navigated exploratory bushwhack to two remote ponds-
Temperature near zero, with a frigid wind chill.
Cloud cover yielding to blue sky and dazzling sunshine.
Six to eight inches of fresh powder on a solid base to snowshoe on.
Splendid backcountry scenery that few hikers witness.
Moose track, skat and beds.

Jim’s leg breaking through creek ice into the water.
Jim quickly extracting his leg, preventing a wet foot.
Dave’s snowshoe binding breaks four miles into the trek.
A hob-cobble repair to the binding.
Climbed a challenging ridgeline for a view to Woodhull Mt.
Cut the trip short because of binding.
Hiked eight miles in 6.5 hours.
A member whines because we were out of the woods with several hours of daylight still remaining.
Last, but certainly not least, great comradery among Jim, David, Greg, and Paul.
