This year’s Corn Roast was quite an event. It began with a police-escorted parade of decorated cars from Oneida Square to Sherrill Brook Park and ended with a hike to Rock City, a favorite route for Tramps in the past. The theme for this particular get together was the 1960’s, and many participants dressed accordingly.

Over 80 people attended, including some who have been members since the 70’s. Many photos were taken of folks sporting afros, bell bottoms, tie dye and beads.

A popular backdrop for pictures was the covered wagon that had been constructed by a club president back in the 1950’s to haul gear on camping trips.
A 100-year commemorative newspaper was distributed by a newsboy decked out in 1920’s-era apparel, and “Tramp Stamps” were available for anyone who dared receive a “tattoo.”

The catered BBQ and corn on the cob lunch was augmented by members’ home-made snacks and desserts. It was a real blast! Cool, man.
